[Discussion] Working with Quests and Events: a Comparison

While I am building my quest system, I would like to take an opportunity to look at how it will be used in RPG Maker development.

In particular, I would like to know the benefits or drawbacks to using a quest system to manage my quests, as opposed to simply using some switches or variables to keep track of them.
